Visual identity design for Mexicando Restaurant. Madrid, Spain.

Although my main area or expertise is in editorial design, I was very pleased to participate in this beautiful project for a Mexican Restaurant in Madrid, Spain.

Mexicando combines the words Mexico and “ando” which would translate as “I walk through life” so the image was supposed to be colorful, happy, cheerful… as if we were taking a relaxing trip to Mexico through their cuisine. The relaxing part being in their slogan: Authentic Tacotherapy.

The symbol of the dove comes from an ancient Mexican embroidery tradition and it identifies with freedom and happiness. The variety of colors is taken from Mexican folklore.
